Scotland 0 – 0 Northern Ireland

So a few text updates were all I had to go on for the NI match last week.

Here’s a summary of events from a Mr M. J. “Match was crap. Banter was awesome. Best song – let’s all laught at England”.

Martin Paterson

And a few reflections on the match itself, gleaned from the comments of people who might actually know what they’re talking about on ILS:

Brunt by all accounts was awful, still unable to reproduce his club form for his country. Bring back Elliott or Capaldi (has never really been given a chance in his natural position for us). Also most people seem to be agreed that Evans was our best player. Playing Healy as a lone striker just doesn’t work. We need to play 2 strikers, apart from against the really good teams. And a promising debut from McGivern, apart from the sending off.

BBC Report
